Student: Alyssa Moss

District/Region: Cape Breton-Victoria Region

Event: 2009 Canada-Wide Science Fair

Grade 11 - Riverview High School

This project is an experiment that tested which house shape is the most wind resistant structure.

Five different model homes were constructed. The wind force exerted on the models was measured using a force sensor. After analyzing the data, the dome home structure was found to be the most resistant. Now, safer, more wind resistant houses can be built where hurricanes are common and severe.
