Moulin à Vent Solaire

District/Region: Tri-County District

Event: 2011 Canada-Wide Science Fair

Grade 9 - Yarmouth Junior High School

The intention of my project was to design and develop a structure that generates energy by utilizing two renewable energy sources independently, solar and wind power. The windmill exists in the center of a pyramid which has numerous solar panels at a 45 degree angle mounted on one side of the pyramid. This is secured to a rotational platform that could be motorized to track the suns course. Capturing both wind and solar power increases the quantity of energy generated. This design is a unique idea which maximizes energy efficiency especially if it was utilized as your personal residence.
