District/Region: Chignecto Central Region

Event: 2004 Canada-Wide Science Fair

Jim Proudfoot, 17, & Ashley Curley, 17, are Grade 11 students at North Nova Education Centre in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. For their science fair project, they tested high school students to determine what improvements could be made in the school environment, to better promote and teach healthy living.

Jim and Ashley placed 2nd overall at their regional fair, and participated in the Canada-Wide Science Fair in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Jim says he would like to study architecture or business administration, and Ashley would like to study pharmacy.

They are two of Nova Scotia's young scientists, and two of tomorrow's innovators. Congratulations, Jim & Ashley!
