Student: Ian Dugas & Jaime McDonald [18-17/M-F]

District/Region: Annapolis Valley Region

Event: 2004 Canada-Wide Science Fair

Ian Dugas, 18 and Jaime McDonald, 17, are from Kentville, Nova Scotia. For their science fair project at Horton High School, they separated blueberry juice into several components and studied how they inhibit the growth of disease-producing organisms.

Ian and Jaime won a silver medal for their project, and participated in the Canada-Wide Science Fair in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Ian and Jaime both say they would like to study chemistry.

They're two of Nova Scotia's young scientists, and two of tomorrow's innovators. Congratulations Ian and Jaime!
