Student: Iain MacLellan

District/Region: Strait District

Event: 2013 Canada-Wide Science Fair

Grade 9 - Dr. John Hugh Gillis Regional School

One of the most costly and common diseases of dairy cattle is mastitis. In dairy farming, time is money. If milk production drops, a farmer receives less in his/her pay cheque. As mastitis directly affects production, it needs to be addressed. To avoid losses, farmers must ensure herd health. What can be done to reduce incidences of mastitis within the herd?
