The Dig on Logs

Student: Sarah Hingley

District/Region: Chignecto Central Region

Event: 2007 Canada-Wide Science Fair

Sarah is a student at Bible Hill Junior High School. Her project studied the efficiency of digger logs during low water flows.

Her conclusion: Sarah was able to determine which notch pattern allows for a more constant flow to create larger pools for fish habitat during periods of low water.

She earned a Bronze Medal in Engineering and a University of Western Ontario Scholarship at the 2007 Canada-Wide Science Fair in Truro. Sarah is a young Nova Scotian celebrating science and discovery. Congratulations Sarah!
