Energy From Mobility: Creating and Testing Kinetic Electrical Generators

Student: Greg Farrell

District/Region: Halifax Region

Event: 2009 Canada-Wide Science Fair

Grade 9 - Gorsebrook Junior High School

The purpose of this innovation was to produce and store energy from the movement of walking.

The most common problem for small-scale electronics is that they run out of batteries on the run. My innovation solves this. I designed and created a passive generator and applied it to a circuit I designed leading to a USB port. The objectives were met and expectations exceeded.
